Andreea Albani

b.1988, Bucharest

Andreea Albani graduated from the Bucharest National University of Arts in 2009, with a BFA in Painting, class of Florin Ciubotaru, and a MA in 2011, at the same department, class of Petru Lucaci. She had several  solo shows in Bucharest (2009) and Haifa, Israel (2011) and has taken part in group show in Romania (Bucharest, Timişoara, Cluj-Napoca) as well as overseas, in London, Chicago, Essen, Seoul and Chisinau. In 2013 she received the Debut Award from the Bistrita Museum of Art, and in 2014 she is on the final shortlist for the Aesthetica Art Prize in London. In 2015 she had an important transaction on the international art market following her successful participation in the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition in London. In 2017 she has her first solo show at AnnArt, (Time #0.4) The Poem.2 .

One will not find here a story, but rather a constant series of events which do not seek a phenomenologically defined culture; it is more like an ephemeral scientific poem. It’s a (imaginary) memory mapping. I create a spatial drawing loaded with memory, where the line exists as a psychological event. It’s a visual alphabet.
